Monarch Butterfly Festival
September 18, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
FreeThis event is provided by Bob Jones Nature Center. Look for the TRWD table to pick up a few goodies and learn how water is important for butterflies!
We’re so excited to celebrate the magnificent Monarch Butterflies with you and your family!
On the day of the Festival, we’ll be releasing hundreds of Monarch Butterflies into the wild and interacting with them first-hand! The event is split into three, one and a half hour sessions. Each session has the same activities. Please arrive on time to your registered session (9am, 10:30am, or 12pm). You are welcome to stay after your session to hike and can participate in activities as long as you’d like. If you are later than half an hour to your check-in time, sadly we cannot guarantee a butterfly will still be waiting for you to release.
When you arrive you’ll check in at our welcome table and receive tickets for the butterflies you will release and a passport with event details. Once checked in, you and your family are free to enjoy the festivities. When you are ready, you can trade in your tickets for Monarchs to release onsite. We’ll have fun goodies and activities for both kids and adults to enjoy as well as a how-to video to explain everything you need to know.
