Even a small roof area can produce a usable amount of water during an average rainfall. From huge cisterns to small DIY barrels\, capturing rainwater can be done by anyone. Attend this workshop to learn the ins and outs of rainwater harvesting and purchase a discounted barrel to take home!  \nLearn about:  \n\nHow much water your roof will produce in a year \n\n\nWhere to put your rain barrel to capture the most water \n\n\nHow to install a barrel  \n\n\nHow to hook up and use your new water source \n\n\nHow to build your own 50 gallon rain barrel with just a few supplies from the hardware store \n\n  \nRegister for the workshop to build a rain barrel to take home for only $25! \nArlington\, Texas residents only. \n  \nRain barrel information: These rain barrels are discounted from $70 to $25 by TRWD. Barrels are 50 gallons and made from previously used food safe storage containers. The barrels will vary in color and could be blue\, white\, brown\, or black. You do not get to choose your barrel color. Approximate dimensions are 35 inches tall by 24 inches diameter. \nRain Barrel Building Information: You will be required to build your own barrel with help from class instructors. Power tool use will not be required. The build requires no prior skill and mainly consists of attaching things to the barrel. \nAfter the barrel is built\, you will be required to load your barrel into your vehicle. \n  \nRegistration is required for attendance. If you register and do not come to the class\, you will NOT be issued a refund and you will NOT be able to pick up your barrel. Your barrel will be donated to a local gardening project. If you find you cannot attend the class at the designated time\, cancel your ticket\, and request a refund through Eventbrite at least 1 week BEFORE the class. You will be refunded the ticket price\, minus non-refundable Eventbrite processing fees. \nOne barrel per household.
