SUMMARY:DIY Rainwater Harvesting
DESCRIPTION:Capture water while it is raining to use on your landscape later!  \n  \nJoin our workshop to learn how\, then build your own rain barrel to take home!  \n  \n Click here to register\n  \nRainwater harvesting is great for North Texas because you can keep some of the rain we get during the spring and fall to use during our hot and dry summers. Even a small roof area can produce a usable amount of water during an average rainfall. From huge cisterns to small DIY barrels\, capturing rainwater can be done by anyone. Attend this workshop to learn about the ins and outs of rainwater harvesting and purchase a discounted barrel to build and take home!  \n  \nLearn about:  \n  \n\n How much water your roof will produce in a year\n Where to put your rain barrel to capture the most water\n How to install a barrel\n How to hook up and use your new water source\n How to build your own50-gallonrain barrel with just a few supplies from the hardware store \n\n  \nRegister for the workshop to build a rain barrel to take home for only $25!  \nAttendees get to build their own rain barrel and take it home.  \n  \nRain barrel information: These rain barrels are discounted from $70 to $25 by TRWD. Barrels are 50 gallons and made from previously used food safe storage containers. The barrels will vary in color and could be blue\, white\, brown\, or black. You do not get to choose your barrel color. Approximate dimensions are 35 inches tall by 24 inches in diameter.  \n  \nRain Barrel Building Information: You will be required to build your own barrel with help from class instructors. Power tool use will not be required. The build requires no prior skill and mainly consists of attaching things to the barrel.  \nAfter the barrel is built\, you will be required to load your barrel into your vehicle.  \n  \nRegistration is required for attendance. If you register and do not come to the class\, you will NOT be issued a refund and you will NOT be able to pick up your barrel. Your barrel will be donated to a local gardening project. If you find you cannot attend the class at the designated time\, cancel your ticket\, and request a refund through Eventbrite at least 1 week BEFORE the class. You will be refunded for the ticket price\, minus non-refundable Eventbrite processing fees.  \n  \nOne barrel per household. More than one person from your household can come to the workshop with the purchase of one barrel/ticket\, but only one barrel/ticket per household please.  \n  \nBedford\, Texas residents only.  \n  \nAny orders that do not comply with restrictions may be cancelled at TRWD’s discretion.  \n  \nThe workshop will be taught by Tarrant County Master Gardeners.  \n  \nThis event is brought to you by The City of Bedford and Tarrant Regional Water District.
